HOUSE OF VANS LONDON

I recently went to the House of Vans after a friend suggested we go to an exhibition that was on, little did we know, this space is much more than just an exhibition hall. According to House of Vans this place is where imagination lets loose over concrete bowls, art installations, workshops and concert stages, inspiring every person who runs, rolls, or stomps through its door.

The venue is located under Waterloo station. As you enter you are greeted by a lengthily slope that leads you to different avenues once to past a minimal concrete fitted reception area. Inside this interior there are multiple activities happening at the same time that you just would not know of if you were passing the facade entrance on the street. There is a restaurant/cafe serving the usual street food, burgers and chips. I didn’t eat there but that’s what I remember seeing on the massive chalkboard menu. There is also a cinema, skateboarding turf and live music venue all within the same interior, under the same name.

I commend what the brand has done, as they successfully intertwine creative expressions in music, workshops, art and skateboarding in order to engage with Vans' 'Off The Wall' spirit. I think more brands should do this kind of thing, if not a permanent space, a pop up is just as good. That way the cliental will grow as soon as more people connect with the brand via such experiences. The website offers you a virtual tour of the interior, so I will say no more other than I admire how every aisle has been naturally partitioned into a designated area/activity making the most of the space.

Definitely somewhere worth checking out if you’re in Waterloo, London area. Go House of Vans for the latest events.
How did I forget to mention the free Photo Booth!?
