LE REFUGE BY MARC ANGE

I was scrolling on my Instagram where I came across this dream installation named ‘Le Refuge’ by Parisian/Italian designer and founder of the Bloom Room, Marc Ange. This time last month Milan held their annual Milan Design Week, and the paradise aesthetic of the installation definitely caught the attention of many, as it was one of the most captured attractions during the design week. Situated at the Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition space within Mediateca di Santa Teresa, Milan. The design was in collaboration with The Invisible Collection and Green Gallery.

I like how the over scaled palm leaves that hover above the sun bed emphasise the idea of shelter and security within the jungle A.K.A the real world!

According to the designer:

“Le Refuge is a place where one finds comfort and peace. It is the projection of a childhood memory. Its large leaves form a shelter under the sun, away from reality, just like those of the imaginary jungle that grows in the room of a child who seeks escape.” – Marc Ange

Le Refuge is my weekend inspiration only I doubt the current weather here in the UK will allow me to find shade let alone lounge in it. I mean, it's the month of May already! Can the sun make its yearly appearance now? Please? Let’s see how it goes.
